==Tools Required==

The tools required to do it are the usual for [[:category:skyline|Skyline]]s, however at bare minimum you should have:

*offset ringspanner in 14mm
*combination spanner in 14mm
*combination spanner in 15mm
*combination spanner in 17mm
*combination spanner in 12mm
*combination spanner in 10mm

*Deep socket in 14mm
*Deep socket in 17mm

*Socket in 17mm
*Socket in 14mm
*Socket in 12mm
*Socket in 10mm
*Socket in 1/4" AF

*Ratchet
*Screwdrivers - both blade and phillips

*Breaker bar - good length

*Extender bars, Woobleh bars, Pliars.



==Guide==

1. Drive front of car onto high ramps (around 40cm atleast), turn car off, remove battery, let auto cool down(2-3 hours)

2. Support autobox with a jack, undo rear sump bolts on autobox, drain as much fluid as you can, tighten bolts back up, clean area, disconnect auto wiring behind battery

3. Remove shifter linkage from gearbox

4. Loosen off centre tailshaft loop bolts, remove rear tailshaft bolts (14mm and 15mm spanner, both open end, good qual)
--4.1 If need be, (on single spinner diffs only) you can jack up one wheel and rotate the diff to get to the other 2 bolts

5. Remove tailshaft centrebolts, kick rear of tailshaft off the diff, pull the tailshaft towards the rear of the car, stick the autobox end of the tailshaft into a bag filled with tranny oil to stop any dirt or rust getting to it

6. Remove lower engine supporting brackets, bolts are located on the bellhousing and on each side of the engine at the bottom.

7. Remove starter motor, check condition

8. Remove leads and loosen spark plugs to remove all compression from the engine

9. With a helper, remove lower dust plate off engine, rotate engine to undo a torque converter bolt (14mm), then keep rotating until all 4 bolts are removed

10. Tie a rope around the bellhousing on the autobox and tie them to the bonnet supports

11. Remove remaining top bolts from autobox, be careful with the top one, it is removable either from the rear with long extender bars (dont use a mass of short ones, as this will put no torque on the bolt) or use a good quality 14mm ring spanner, long as possible, with slight offset. The spanner method will work better. If you round this bolt you will have to pull out the engine with auto attached

12. Once all bolts are removed pull the autobox on the jack backwards by about 2-3cm, this will clear the bellhousing from the ring gear on the flywheel

13. Loosen off auto cooler lines, hacksaw may be required.

14. Bring autobox down, and drag it out on the driver side of the car, underneath the control arm. it should clear if you used the right wheel ramps

15. Done.
