SVD
Nissan SVD (Special Vehicles Division) was formed in the late 80's
SVD produced the GTS1 and GTS2
Other vehicles produced by SVD were the Vector, and the Pathfinder.
The Nissan SVD Owners Club of Australia was originally formed back in 1992, catering for owners of the Silhouette GTS1 and GTS2's as built by Nissan Australia under their Special Vehicle Division during the period 1988 to 1991.
- SVD also produced a number of Police vehicles, for the Tasmanian Police.
These cars were identical in external appearance to the GTS2, the only cosmetic difference being the colour.
- The Police cars were white.
- The Police cars had an SVD plate on the firewall.
- SVD plate shows that these cars are in fact a GXE, not a GTS.
- The vehicle number shows as "TP**" , which denotes "Tasmanian Police"
